The Career Center for Creative and Culinary Arts is an interdisciplinary program that offers creative media and culinary opportunities to inner-city middle and high school students.</p>

&#8220;Keeping Our Children Safe&#8221; provides specialized car seats and safety restraints for medically fragile children who cannot use regular car seats.</p>

The “Technology for Youth” program provides services for youth who suffer form undiagnosed and untreated traumatic brain injury and other less visible disabilities.</p>

<p>The Therapeutic Preschool is a therapeutic program for children who have experienced abuse, neglect and/or trauma, which operates like a traditional preschool.</p>

We are pleased to announce the addition to our team of Sherri DeCosta Alley as Vice President for Advancement.  Sherri joined the staff on July 30<sup>th</sup> and is looking forward to meeting and working with Board members and serving the Advancement Committee.</p>
<p>Originally from Rhode Island, Sherri came to Knoxville by way of Atlanta and Charlotte (where she earned a B.S. in Business Administration from U.N.C.)  to attend the University of Tennessee College of Law.  Her six years of experience as an estate planning and probate attorney with Kizer and Black make Sherri very well-suited to her new position as ETF’s chief development officer. She brings a wealth of information about the important role of philanthropy in estate planning and is available to help donors and their professional advisors in planning for their philanthropy.  Please join us in welcoming Sherri to our ETF family by calling or emailing her (<a href="mailto:sdalley@etf.org">sdalley@etf.org</a>). <p><strong>ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn</strong>. – <strong>East Tennessee Foundation</strong> (ETF) is proud to announce the winners of the <strong>2012</strong> <strong>Steven L. Coffey Memorial Scholarship Fund. </strong><em> </em></p>
<p><em> </em>This year the four students include:  Brandye Hankins, Katie Styles, Samantha Owens, and Brittany Ridenour, all of Anderson County High School.  (<em>For a photograph of the selected students, please see attachment. <p><em></em>The Steven L. Coffey Memorial Scholarship Fund of East Tennessee Foundation is designed<strong> </strong>to benefit high school graduates and adult residents of Anderson County who wish to pursue a college education. This unique program’s goals are to encourage academic success, provide needed support and help students realize their full potential.</p>
<p>Pat and David Coffey established the Steven L. Coffey Memorial Scholarship in honor of their son, who believed in the power of opportunity and education, and was a talented and successful businessman and family man.  Together, the Coffey family and ETF are working to encourage the continuing growth of Anderson County in memory of Steven L. Coffey.</p>
<p><em>“East Tennessee Foundation is proud to be a partner with Pat and David Coffey in assisting these four outstanding Anderson County young people in furthering their educational goals,” said Mike McClamroch, President and CEO of East Tennessee Foundation.</em></p>
<p>East Tennessee Foundation administers 36 active scholarship programs assisting over 120 students within a 25-county service area. The scholarships established through East Tennessee Foundation, by individuals, groups, families and friends, help fulfill the dreams of those wishing to pursue post-secondary education.</p>
<p>East Tennessee Foundation is a public, non-profit, regional community foundation serving 25 counties in East Tennessee. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, the Foundation’s mission is to create stronger communities and better lives through thoughtful giving.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Elizabethton/Carter County Community Foundation, an Affiliate Fund of East Tennessee Foundation has been selected by Carter County Bank to be the “featured nonprofit of the year” at the annual “A Taste of Carter County” event sponsored by Carter County Bank.  As the “featured non-profit” the Foundation will receive a unique opportunity to share in the proceeds from this year’s event.  “A Taste of Carter County” will be the kick-off event for the 46<sup>th</sup> Annual Elizabethton/Carter Country Covered Bridge Celebration which was created in 1966 and has become a major festival each year, featuring craftsman, artists, food, and entertainment from all over the region.</p>
<p>“A Taste of Carter County” will be held on June 5th at 5:30 p.m. at the Elizabethton High School Cafeteria.<br />
<strong>Tickets are $10 and can be purchased through the Elizabethton/Carter County Community Foundation, Carter County Chamber of Commerce or at local branches of Carter County Bank.</strong></p>
